Student of the Month
Congratulations to Braden Duffey and Erin Carroll for being the Student of the Month for December and January.
FASFA time for Seniors
Beginning January 1st, any student planning to attend college next fall could submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The FAFSA should be submitted ASAP! The website to submit online is: www.fafsa.gov.
The FAFSA is the application for the Tennessee Lottery Scholarship Program as well as state and federal grants and loans.
The guidance department will be holding a Financial Aid Workshop on Monday, January 9th at 7:00 p.m. in the CCHS Library. Anyone who would like more information on applying for financial aid and scholarship money is welcome to attend.
Teacher Christmas Party
The teachers who participated in Secret Santa met in the library this morning for breakfast and to reveal one another's Secret Santa. The teachers swapped ornaments and gathered a donation for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Utrust Writing Competition
Congratulations to Forrest Kellar who was awarded a $1,000 prize for winning the Utrust Writing Competition. His essay was entitled "More than Just a Teacher" and was written about his high school teacher at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Football Banquet
The football banquet honoring the CCHS cheerleaders and football players was held December 12. Awards are as follows:
Jordan Finch- Defensive MVP, best Offensive Back, Cavalier Award, and Hitman Award, All Region
Colton Kail- Best Receiver
Jonathan Jurnett- Offensive MVP, All Region
Josh Johnson- Best Linebacker, All Region
Hunter Sherrod- Best Defensive Back
Donavan Mayfield- elected as a Captain for next year
Jacob Edwards- Offensive lineman, and elected as a Captain for next year
Jarvis Morgan- Hustle Award, Scout team player
Jamal Knowles- Defensive Lineman
Smart Boards
Certain teachers received smart boards. These boards will help the teachers in many ways and can help make classes more enjoyable for students.
Hero Day
Mrs. Lee's Advanced English III class wrote essays about heroism. They were to write an essay on a person in their life that fills the role as an unsung hero. The class did an amazing job!
